TOMRA Sorting Food is set to exhibit its award-winning Nimbus BSI sorting machine at Gulfood Manufacturing, the largest food processing trade show for the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.
Experts from TOMRA will be available at Booth D3-4 in Hall 3 at the Dubai World Trade Center, from November 7-9 to provide live demonstrations of the optical sorter as it streams thousands of kernels and in-shell pistachios.
Utilising TOMRA's Biometric Signature Identification (BSI) technology, the Nimbus BSI free-fall sorting machine accurately detects the biometric characteristics of nuts and seeds. By combining the efficiency of laser detection with the BSI module, the Nimbus is able to sort based on biological characteristics such as aflatoxin, mycotoxins, water and oil content.
In 2015, TOMRA was presented with the Innovation Award at the World Nut and Dried Fruit Congress for this ground-breaking BSI technology.
